2021 Season

2021 season

Despite the currently serious issues with Covid and the fact that we are part way through another national lockdown, we are planning for the cricket season to start as normal. If possible, the league season will start on 17 April this year. We will have contingency plans in case the start of the season is delayed. It is reasonable to expect that sanitisation requirements and restrictions on use of clubhouses will remain in place at least at the beginning of the season.

The captains meeting is likely to be held over Zoom. We will go through the changes in playing conditions for the season which will include the adoption of Law 42 and the reintroduction of umpire and ground marking. On Law 42, the Lancashire ACO has produced a very comprehensive tutorial which should be compulsory viewing for umpires and team captains, and should be of interest to all players, club officials and scorers.
