Full League programme goes ahead

By Tim Mansfield

The WCL programme for this weekend will go ahead as planned. We ask everyone to play the game in a spirit that pays tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and honours her remarkable life and service.

All matches should begin with 2 minutes silence. Home teams are asked to appoint a club official to say a few words before the silence - this can be a team captain or senior player. Players and officials may choose to wear black armbands in tribute, and clubs with flags should fly them at half mast until the end of the period of mourning.

This decision follows ECB guidance developed after consultation with DCMS and in line with Official National Mourning guidance.

WCL Preview and Review The Westmorland League programme goes ahead today with the League Management Committee asking that all matches hold a two minute silence at the start of the game as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.
