It reads: At a meeting with Cumbria Cricket League, Eden Valley Cricket League and Westmorland Cricket League it was agreed in principle to move forward with a Cumbria pyramid structure to raise the standard of cricket at the top, with possible regionalisation and autonomy of the Eden Valley Cricket League and the Westmorland Cricket League for the 2025 season. 2024 final standings will dictate the top of the structure.
We will be reaching out to consult all clubs and their stakeholders with four roadshows on 18th, 19th, 20th and 25th September (venues to be confirmed).
Please note: The WCL will sit across both the Cumbria and Lancashire pyramids and ambitious teams will be able to progress in either pyramid, but both the Lancashire and Cumbria proposals respect and maintain the integrity and autonomy of existing leagues within the pyramids. There are a number of details which still need to be fully worked through and it is expected that the roadshows will help with this. Once a date is set for the South Lakes one we will need to do what we can to make sure that there is a good and representative turnout from our clubs.
