League statement: Kirkby Stephen

The League Management Committee was informed yesterday that Kirkby Stephen CC will not be able to fulfil its fixtures in Division 1. In January the club was confident that it had the playing strength to put out two teams, but has lost several players over the past 3 months. We were informed on Monday that they were in difficulties and were holding a Committee meeting on Wednesday which confirmed the decision to withdraw the first team. The second team will play in Division 4 as planned. Kirkby Stephen CC has apologised for the inconvenience caused.

This means that Division 1 will have 13 teams and there may need to be some changes to fixtures. This is obviously far from ideal, but we will keep you informed following the Management Committee meeting next week.
