Westgate visit Warton and will expect to maintain momentum in their Championship quest. Heysham will hope to keep up their challenge at home to Trimpell. The most intriguing games are a first League meeting since the 1940s between local rivals, Burneside and Kendal 2nds when the League’s leading run scorer Ben Philips faces his former club. Elsewhere Shireshead face Sedgwick and as we approach half way in the season, is it premature to say that neither side can afford to lose if they are to harbour realistic title ambitions? In Division 2, the Netherfield 3rds v Windermere game isn’t taking place and it’s being rearranged for later in the season. Coniston travel to Cartmel with a weakened team, but Bob Simpson will have plans how to defeat his former club.

With the quarter-finalists confirmed in the Hackney & Leigh, British Rose Cricket and Kendal Trophies tournaments, attention midweek goes to the final round of group games in the Moon & Coxhill Cup, where the winners of each game will have the advantage of a home tie in the quarter finals.
