Week 9 Preview

The weekend’s fixtures start tonight with Carnforth and Holme playing off to determine home advantage in the British Rose Cricket Trophy. On Friday night, Heysham host Bare and Kirkby Lonsdale host Milnthorpe in what are eliminator matches in the Hackney and Leigh. On Saturday, every game in Division 1 pits a top half team against a team in the lower half of the table. Arnside are probably best placed to overturn the form book, but Bare will hope to take points against Warton and Sedgwick quickly need to get their batters performing if they are to stay in the race for the Championship.

The matches of the day take place in Division 2 and 3. Runaway Division 2 leaders Holme will face a stern test at Coniston. Both teams have been scoring runs for fun so expect plenty of runs. The top two in Division 3 meet in a local derby on Saturday when Morecambe 3rds travel to Heysham 2nds.
