Westmorland Cricket League secures three-year sponsorship deal with ICS Accounting

By James Main

The Westmorland Cricket League is delighted to announce that it has secured a deal with local accountancy firm ICS Accounting for them to become our main sponsor for the next three years ahead of an exciting 2024 season.

From now on, the league will be known as the ‘ICS Accounting Westmorland Cricket League’.

Established in 2002, ICS Accounting provide a range of accountancy, payroll and administration services to contractors, freelancers and small business owners across the UK. They’re proud to also run the locally known and trusted Hanley & Co Accountants, BCS Accountants and TRW Accountants. They build meaningful relationships with their clients and have a wealth of experience across many industries and sectors.

League president Peter Wilson said: “We are delighted to get this deal over the line. ICS are a good local company based in Lancaster and the South Lakes, and we are really pleased that they have decided to partner with us. This will help us to develop local cricket at grassroots level and it is great that ICS buy into what we’re trying to do as a league.”

John Lyon, managing director of ICS Accounting added: “As a local firm, we are excited to see what this partnership brings and we think it’s important to support sport in the area in which we operate. We are really pleased to be on board with the Westmorland Cricket League and hope that this will be a partnership that has a really positive impact on both us and local cricket.”

The 2024 season sees 10 new teams being entered across the league’s four divisions, with five new clubs coming into the league.

Teams from Kirkby Stephen, Settle, Millom and Lindal Moor and Penrith are all coming in, while Appleby Eden will be entering more teams into the league.

This will mean a total of 62 teams across four divisions and 33 member clubs.
