Holme CC will play in Division 1 this season

2019 season

Following the withdrawal of Ambleside CC from Division 1 for the 2019 season, the League Management Committee approached Holme CC to see whether the club wished to take Ambleside's place in Division 1. The club has confirmed this evening that they do wish to play in Division 1 for the 2019 season and will take on the fixtures originally allocated to Ambleside. They will open their campaign with a home game v Heysham on Saturday.

This means that Division 1 will have 12 teams for 2019, but unfortunately this means that there will only be 10 teams in Division 2 and that regrettably Bare 1st team will not have a fixture on the first week of the season. We did speak to the team who finished 11th in Division 2 in 2018, but they have chosen to play in Division 3 this season. We will consider options for providing more cricket for these teams and are open to ideas from clubs. This may mean changes to the Division 2 Cup so please hold fire on arranging matches until we confirm whether changes are to be made to the competition.

It also means that there will have to be some reorganisation of some of Holme 2nd XI's fixtures in Division 3 with the first match that needs to be changed being Holme A v Morecambe 3s on May 11th.

A number of us have spoken to several clubs already today and we will be in touch with all clubs and umpires who will be affected by the changes over the next few days. If there is anything that is unclear please do not hesitate to contact me.
